I was visiting a nearby river recently to see what photo opportunities I could find and I saw this beautiful hand crafted canoe. It was a tad small but it was very light and better looking than my plastic canoe. One problem though, it was too small to carry photo gear or another person.
The owner took my canoe out for a spin to try out a larger one, it turns out that he was a photographer too and was wanting something larger to carry his gear. I declined the offer to try his out as I wouldn’t even think of buying one that small.
I have a Wenonah Heron which is 15 feet long but only weighs about 80 pounds which is light enough for me to handle by myself.

I mentioned in a previous post that I am a Lightroom user. I use Lightroom and the web module to organize, search and even to create flash photo galleries to show my photos on the web.
I have my gallery photos organized into collections which are categorized such as landscape, bird, wildlife etc. This makes it easy to load or add new photos into galleries based on my collections. I had been doing things the hard way until I discovered an easier way. Individual custom user templates based on my collections.
I recently discovered something in creating custom user templates for my photo galleries. At first I had one basic custom user template which had all the colors adjusted, the contact information, and the site title, collection title and ftp file path. I was using this one master template to create each individual photo gallery. This was a pain because I would forget to change the default site title, or the collection title or the ftp server settings such as the ftp file path from one gallery collection to the other.
I discovered that I could use the master to clone another individual gallery template name it with the same name as my collections. Then just change the information related to that gallery like the site title, collection title and ftp file path from say landscape to birds, right click on the template birds and from the popup menu select update with current settings which will save everything to that template.
Now my work is so much easier. I just select which collection I want to work with in the library module, then switch to the web module select the collection template and generate a new photo gallery.

I live in the northern part of Florida and I haven’t seen a Hummingbird since last year. I had these tiny visitors recently.
Too bad they were only around for a couple of days. I would have more photos except the weather was either windy or rainy most of the time they were here.
Visit my photo gallery if you want to see more of my photos.
